I am here to tell you that if Carnival wants to be known as "the fun ship" they need more like the Vista. This ship has the Water Works area, a SkyCourse and the SkyRide; not to mention ping pong, mini golf, foosball, swimming pools/hot tubs, and outdoor exercise equipment so you can take in the ocean while you workout.
For those of us who have a lot of fun eating while we cruise, this ship is loaded with options and a ton of them are free. There is the famous Guys Burgers, Guy also has his Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que. There also is the BlueIguana Cantina which has some great fresh Mexican choices, even for breakfast. Don't forget also that only on Carnival can you get, my wife's favorite, Warm Chocolate Melting Cake.
If entertainment is more your style there is no shortage of that on this ship either. You can start by playing a real life version of Clue where you travel all around the ship over several days getting clues to the "who dun it" mystery; there is even an IMAX on this ship.
All that fun make you thirsty; stop by the RedFrog Pub and Brewery, the Havana Bar, the BlueIguana Tequila bar or the RedFrog rum bar.
I could go on and on about all this ship has to offer but my suggestion is you try it out for yourself. This is a big ship but crowds were not an issue compared to some other cruise lines larger ships I have tried in the past. You don't need, nor is it required, to have a reservation for the shows which I really appreciate after a previous trip, on an epic ship, where I had to standby for and missed several main shows because they required a reservation and filled up if you didn't get a reservation for them on the first day of the cruise.
The main negative I have about the Vista is that if you want to book a special event (a wedding for example) you will have to pay a premium to have it on this ship. You even have to pay a premium just to use a room to hold a small reception if you had the wedding at one of the ports. Another issue is the line for the SkyCourse and the SkyRide could get long so my suggestion is be there when they open and try it out then you can ride again later if you don't mind a little wait time. Overall Carnival got it right with the Vista and I can give my recommendation for anyone who wants to cruise on it.
